DECEMBER 09DAY 1 WEDNESDAY – ARRIVAL IN MEXICO CITY – Arrival at Mexico City International Airport, reception, and welcome. During the transfer to the hotel, the guide will provide instructions regarding the tours. Check-in at the hotel (rooms will be available from 3:00 p.m.). Accommodation. Free afternoon.

DECEMBER 10DAY 2 THURSDAY – MEXICO CITY – COYOACÁN – XOCHIMILCO – After the included breakfast, we will begin our tour of the Historic Center of the “City of Palaces,” as it was once called because of its beautiful colonial buildings. We will visit Constitution Square, also known as the Zócalo; the National Palace with the famous murals by Diego Rivera, if permitted by the authorities; the Metropolitan Cathedral; and enjoy a panoramic view of the Aztec Templo Mayor from the pre-Hispanic period, as well as the main avenues and monuments. We will continue the tour with a stop in the center of Coyoacán, located in the south of Mexico City, perhaps one of the most pleasant areas because of its quiet streets and stately mansions. Afterwards, we will continue to the ancient canals of Xochimilco, a World Cultural Heritage Site, where we will board a traditional trajinera, a brightly decorated boat, and admire the chinampas, small islands used for growing flowers and vegetables. On the return journey, we will pass through University City, UNAM, to admire the murals by Juan O’Gorman, the Mexico 68 Olympic Stadium, the National Library, and the Rector’s Office buildings. Return to the hotel.

DECEMBER 11DAY 3 FRIDAY – TEOTIHUACÁN – VISIT TO THE HOUSE OF JUAN DIEGO – After the included breakfast, we will begin our tour of the archaeological site of Teotihuacán, where we will see the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, as well as other equally important ruins. We will also receive a brief explanation about the production of pulque, known as “The White Liquor,” a traditional beverage from pre-Hispanic Mexico, and obsidian handicrafts. We will continue to the Sanctuary of “The Ever-Virgin Mary, House of Saint Juan Diego,” in Cuautitlán, the place where Juan Diego, “Ambassador and Messenger of Our Lady of Guadalupe,” was born. We will see the archaeological remains of what was once his home and visit the new sanctuary.

DECEMBER 12CENTRAL DAY OF THE PILGRIMAGE – FEAST OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE Today we will experience the central moment of our pilgrimage: our encounter with our Mother at her sanctuary.DAY 4 SATURDAY – SHRINE OF THE FIFTH APPARITION IN TULPETLAC – BASILICA OF GUADALUPE WITH TIME TO ATTEND MASS – After the included breakfast, we will begin our visit to the Shrine of the Fifth Apparition in Tulpetlac, a church with great spiritual significance, as this is where the Blessed Virgin appeared to the dying Juan Bernardino, uncle of Saint Juan Diego, healed him of his serious illness, and requested that she be known as the “Ever-Virgin Holy Mary of Guadalupe.” For this reason, it is considered the Temple of Health. We will continue to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the sanctuary of the Patroness of Mexico, where we will admire the original tilma of Juan Diego bearing the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We will visit both basilicas, the new and the old, and walk through the Marian Plaza, where we will find the Carillon Clock, the Parish of the Indigenous People, the Capuchin Convent, the Chapel of the Little Well, and the monument known as the Offering. We will have free time to climb Tepeyac Hill, where we will visit other churches while enjoying a pleasant panoramic view of the Basilica of Guadalupe. We will have time to attend Mass and purchase souvenirs.

DECEMBER 13DAY 5 SUNDAY – OUR LADY UNDOER OF KNOTS – CONVENT OF THE HOLY CROSS – QUERÉTARO – SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE – Departure from the hotel at approximately 5:00 a.m. and arrival in Querétaro at approximately 9:00 a.m. Breakfast included during the tour. We will begin the day with a visit to the Shrine of Our Lady Mary, Undoer of Knots, where we may ask for her intercession in resolving difficult problems in life, such as family conflicts, financial or work-related difficulties, and emotional wounds. We may also pray for physical and emotional healing, inner peace, and clarity when making decisions, trusting that she “unties the knots” that oppress us and separate us from God. Afterwards, we will visit the Temple of the Holy Cross, where we will see a unique tree whose thorns grow in the shape of the Cross of Christ. During our visit, we will take a brief panoramic tour of the city of Querétaro, admiring the architecture of its impressive aqueduct and learning about the history of the region. We will continue our journey to San Miguel de Allende. Check-in at the hotel. Accommodation and the remainder of the afternoon and evening at leisure.

DECEMBER 14DAY 6 MONDAY – SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE – ATOTONILCO – PUEBLA – After the included breakfast, we will begin our tour of San Miguel de Allende, a town founded in 1542 under the name San Miguel el Grande by Friar Juan de San Miguel. It received city status on March 8, 1826, and was finally declared a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site in July 2008. As we walk through its streets, we will enjoy its pleasant atmosphere, history, and architecture, including the Parish Church of Saint Michael the Archangel, built in the Gothic style by Zeferino Gutiérrez. We will also visit the Church of Saint Anthony of Padua, Allende Square, the first gasoline pump, and an apothecary that still prepares medicines by hand, among many other sites. We will continue to the Sanctuary of Atotonilco, known as the “Sanctuary of God and the Homeland,” recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site and considered by many to be “The Sistine Chapel of the Americas” because of its cultural importance and architectural contribution to Mexican Baroque art. At the end of the tour, we will depart for the city of Puebla. Overnight accommodation in Puebla.

DECEMBER 15DAY 7 TUESDAY – TLAXCALA – OCOTLÁN – SHRINE OF SAINT MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL – PUEBLA – After the included breakfast, we will visit the city of Tlaxcala to learn about its history and admire cultural sites such as the Government Palace, where we will discover the history of Tlaxcala through its murals; the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption; the Art Museum; the Basilica of Ocotlán; and the Stairway of the Heroes. We will continue to the town of San Miguel del Milagro, located in Tlaxcala, where we will visit the Shrine of Saint Michael the Archangel. According to Catholic tradition, in 1631, the Indigenous man Diego Lázaro experienced an apparition of Saint Michael the Archangel on Tzopiloátl Hill. The Archangel told him that he would cause a miraculous spring to flow and that a church should be built in his honor. The spring is found in the well located in the atrium inside the sanctuary. Overnight accommodation in Puebla.

DECEMBER 16DAY 8 WEDNESDAY – PUEBLA – CHOLULA – SANTA MARÍA TONANTZINTLA – RETURN TO MEXICO CITY – After the included breakfast, we will begin our tour of the State of Puebla. We will visit the town of Cholula, where we will see the largest pyramid in the world according to the size of its base; admission is not included. We will also see the Church of Our Lady of Remedies, located at the top of the pyramid. We will continue to Tonantzintla to visit its beautifully decorated church, which contains examples of the Indigenous interpretation of the Bible. We will then proceed to the state capital, with its colonial architecture largely decorated with Talavera tiles. We will see its beautiful cathedral, the Main Square, the Chapel of the Rosary, and the Church of Santo Domingo. Free time. At the end of the visit, we will begin our return to Mexico City. Check-in at the hotel. Overnight accommodation in Mexico City.

DECEMBER 17DAY 9 THURSDAY – MEXICO CITY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – After the included breakfast, the morning will be free. At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport to board the flight home.
